Lorne Grossman
I am a professional drummer and percussionist working in the Toronto area and all over Ontario from Windsor to Ottawa for over 35 years.
I’ve been part of music groups from rock bands to symphony orchestras, in small clubs to Roy Thomson Hall, recorded small projects, television and radio jingles to full orchestral recordings.
I play theatrical shows, orchestral gigs playing either timpani, percussion section or drumset in pops concerts, such as with the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa and with the Toronto Symphony.
I am the timpanist/principal percussionist with the Oakville Symphony, timpanist with the Peterborough Symphony, the Hannaford Street Silver Band, the Toronto Sinfonietta and drumset player with the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa.
Over the last five years I’ve played summer shows in Orillia, Drayton, St. Jacobs, Petrolia, Penetanguishene and Grand Bend.
I’m currently the personnel manager of the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra, book orchestras large and small for performances at Roy Thomson Hall, the Air Canada Centre, etc., play in several orchestras, a few bands and teach both at Upper Canada College and privately.
I own my own instruments which I move in my own van.
